Expansion Joint Devices AQUASTOP Type DVA – 50/050

Expansion Joint Device AQUASTOP DVA-50/050 is a 3-meter long embedded deformation joint designed for joint installation. This device is suitable for both indoor spaces and open areas. It is engineered to compensate for deformations in horizontal and vertical structures (floors, walls, ceilings), reducing stresses caused by shrinkage and temperature fluctuations. It withstands pressures up to 22 MPa and ensures seamless passage of equipment.

Deformation Profile DVA-50/050 – designed for installing expansion joints on surfaces subjected to high loads. It can be used in areas where pressure reaches 22 MPa, making it ideal for military training grounds, warehouses with intensive use of steel-wheeled forklifts, and other zones with extreme loads. Features:

  • Withstands pressure up to 22 MPa.
  • Ensures seamless passage of wheeled vehicles, which is particularly important for protecting both equipment and surfaces.

Application:

  • Areas of use: Military training grounds, warehouses with heavy transport vehicles, other facilities with high floor loads.

Installation:

  • Installation method: The profile is installed using an embedded method under a finishing layer with a thickness of 50 mm.
  • Installation requirements: Standard embedded technology must be followed to ensure optimal integration with the floor structure.

Installation Guidelines for AQUASTOP® DVA Expansion Joint Devices

  1. Clean the work area from dirt and debris.
  2. If the concrete surface (hereinafter referred to as the mounting area) (item 3) is contaminated with bitumen, cement milk, grease, or oils, it should be cleaned using appropriate methods.
  3. The mounting area surface along the expansion joint should not have any steps. Smooth irregularities with radii greater than 30 m are allowed. The number of such irregularities is not regulated.
  4. If there are pores and cavities on the mounting area surface along the expansion joint, exposed coarse aggregate, protruding reinforcement, visible concrete mixture segregation, or cracks in the concrete, repairs should be performed.
  5. The suitability of the mounting area should be checked using a 2000 mm long straightedge. The maximum allowable gap in the longitudinal direction between the concrete surface and the straightedge should not exceed 2 mm, and in the transverse direction no more than 1 mm.
  6. After instrumental verification of the position of AQUASTOP DVA expansion joint device sections (item 1), mark drilling locations through the wedge anchor mounting holes (item 2) with a 210 mm pitch, starting 30 mm from the end. Minimum drilling depth is 60 mm, drill diameter 8 mm. Special attention should be paid to the selection of parameters and drill sharpening quality.
  7. Clean holes from debris, check their depth, drive in anchors, and use a nut runner to tighten nuts until they contact the fixed expansion joint device section, leaving them slightly loosened. Final nut tightening should be performed after installation of the subsequent section. Sections are joined with a 150 mm offset of the guide seams relative to the compensator. Maximum tightening torque on the tool is 15 Nm.
  8. Perform floor layer installation work (item 4).
