Profile Seal AQUASTOP® Type Herringbone | Sealing of Concrete Construction Joints

AQUASTOP® Herringbone Profile Seal is a modern solution for sealing and protecting expansion joints in concrete structures. The Herringbone seal prevents water, debris, and aggressive substances from penetrating joints, protects concrete edges from chipping, and compensates for thermal expansion and contraction. It is used on industrial floors, airfields (runways, aprons), highways, parking garages, and cold storage facilities.
Key advantages:
Long service life (5-year warranty)
Wide temperature range (from -50°C to +80°C)
Easy installation without sealants
Protection of concrete edges from damage
Certified materials (Technical Specifications TU 5772–001–58093526–11).
Select the Right Profile for Your Project:
PVC Herringbone
For standard concrete floors (up to 20 kN load capacity)

Material: PVC-P (plasticized polyvinyl chloride). Application: Warehouses, production workshops, shopping malls. Advantages:
-
High chemical resistance to oils and reagents
-
Secure anchoring in concrete
-
Environmental safety

For Extreme Conditions (Airports, Highways, Frost)

Installation Guidelines
-
Joint Preparation:
-
Saw cuts must be made 2–3 days after concrete pouring.
-
The joint depth must not exceed ⅓ of the slab thickness.
-
Edges must be even and clean (without spalling).
-
Around columns, form diamond-shaped joints (the column footing must be inside the diamond).
*Use diamond blades for a clean, precise cut.*
-
-
Installing the Compression Seal:
-
Clean the joint thoroughly using compressed air.
-
Drive the «Herringbone» profile into the joint using a wooden mallet or pneumatic hammer until it is flush with the concrete surface.
-
-
Final Works:
-
-
For PVC seals: After the concrete has settled, recess the seal to a depth of
1.5 × b
(whereb
is the joint width). -
For TEP / EPDM seals: Align the seal edge using a wooden tamping tool.
*Do not apply sealants over the compression seal!*
